Upholstery Cleaning in Long Island & NYC

Upholstery And Couch Cleaning

Your sofa gets more use than almost anything else in the house. Kids, pets, takeout on movie night and years of everyday sitting all leave their mark, and vacuuming only reaches the surface.

EEB cleans couches, sectionals, chairs and other upholstered furniture in homes and businesses across Nassau County, Long Island and New York City. We check the fabric first, then use a cleaning method suited to it.

Furniture We Clean

  • ✓Sofas, loveseats and sleeper sofas
  • ✓Sectionals of any size
  • ✓Armchairs, recliners and accent chairs
  • ✓Dining chairs with fabric seats or backs
  • ✓Ottomans, benches and headboards
  • ✓Loose cushions and pillows

For businesses, we also clean restaurant booths, lobby and waiting-room seating, conference-room chairs and similar upholstered seating, when the material and condition suit the cleaning method. Have leather furniture? Request an assessment and we'll let you know the right option.

How A Couch Cleaning Visit Works

  1. We check the fabric. Most furniture has a cleaning code on a tag under the cushions. We look at the code, the fabric and its condition before choosing a method.
  2. We vacuum and pre-treat. Loose dirt, crumbs and hair come out first, and spots are pre-treated.
  3. We clean. The method depends on the fabric, its care requirements and condition. That may be hot-water extraction or a lower-moisture method; steam isn't right for every fabric.
  4. We let you know how long to wait. Drying time depends on the fabric, the method, airflow and humidity. Let the piece dry fully before normal use; you'll get guidance for your job.

If a piece looks worn through, is coming apart, or the fabric could be damaged by cleaning, we may recommend leaving it alone. We'd rather tell you than risk making it worse.

What Affects The Results

Upholstery cleaning lifts everyday soil and freshens fabric, but every piece is different. Results depend on the fabric, the type and age of a stain, and anything used on it before. Stain and odor treatment are available, and we'll tell you honestly what we expect before we start.

Thinking about cleaning it yourself?

Check the cleaning code first:

  1. W: water-based cleaners can be used.
  2. S: solvent cleaners only; water can leave marks.
  3. W/S: either type can be used.
  4. X: vacuum only; no water or solvent.

Whatever you use, test it on a hidden spot first. If the stain has already been treated, or the code is S or X, a professional cleaning is usually the safer call.

Ways To Book

  1. One-time upholstery cleaning: for a single sofa or a whole room of furniture.
  2. Ongoing upholstery care: lighter, regular care between deeper cleanings, for households and businesses with heavily used seating.
  3. Add it to a home cleaning: add upholstery cleaning when you book a home cleaning with EEB, so both are done in one visit. See Cleaning Add-Ons.

How often should a couch be professionally cleaned? −
It depends on how it's used. A sofa in a busy home with kids or pets needs cleaning more often than one in a formal living room. Many people book a cleaning once or twice a year, or before and after a move.
Is upholstery cleaning worth it? +
It removes soil that vacuuming can't reach and can extend the life of the fabric. It's worth considering before you replace a sofa that's mainly just dirty.
Will the stains come out? +
Many do, but it depends on the fabric, the type of stain and how long it's been there. We'll look first and tell you what to expect.
How long until I can sit on it? +
It depends on the fabric, the cleaning method, airflow and humidity. Let it dry fully before normal use; you'll get guidance for your job at the end of the visit.
Can you clean upholstery during my house cleaning? +
Yes. Add upholstery cleaning when you book a home cleaning, and we'll handle both in the same visit.
