Office Cleaning FAQs: Hours, Security, Supplies and Contracts

These office cleaning services FAQs answer the questions office managers ask most before they sign up: when the crew comes, how the office stays secure, who buys the supplies, how the price is worked out and what the contract looks like. The answers below are based on how EEB runs office cleaning across Long Island and New York City.

Hours and Scheduling

When does the cleaning happen?

Cleaning can happen during business hours, after hours or at night. Most offices choose after hours, so staff arrive to a ready workspace and nobody works around a vacuum. Scheduling outside standard hours can change the price, and your quote shows any change.

How often can you clean?

Anything from once a week to every day, or every 2 weeks, every 4 weeks or as needed. The more often we clean, the lower each visit costs, because less builds up between visits.

What if the office has not been cleaned properly in a while?

If the office has not been cleaned properly in a while, a one-time reset may come first. After that, regular visits keep it at the same standard.

How do I know how often my office needs cleaning?

It depends on headcount, traffic and how the space is used. Our guide on how often an office should be professionally cleaned walks through the factors.

Security and Access

Who lets the crew in?

That is part of setting up the account. To price the office, we ask who lets the crew in and how the office is secured. Some offices hand over a key or code, others have building security let the crew in, and some prefer a staff member to be present.

Will you touch our desks and computers?

Only if you want them included. By default, we leave workstations alone. Many offices prefer it that way, especially where staff keep papers or equipment on their desks.

What happens after each visit?

The office is left ready for the next workday. If something needs attention, tell us and we will review it with you.

What Is Included

What does a standard visit cover?

Every visit includes:

  • ✓Dusting of shared surfaces
  • ✓Vacuuming carpeted areas and mopping hard floors
  • ✓Restroom and breakroom sanitizing
  • ✓Trash removal
  • ✓High-touch areas like door handles, switches and shared counters disinfected

What can be added?

Add-ons include interior windows and glass walls or partitions, carpet extraction and upholstery care, floor buffing, burnishing, stripping and waxing, deeper disinfection of high-touch areas or fogging for larger spaces, conference room detailing, lobby and common area cleaning, and air vent and duct dusting. Unwanted furniture can be hauled away too. The full list is on our office cleaning services page.

How are add-ons priced?

Add-ons are priced on the area involved, such as the square footage of glass or carpet, not the size of the whole office.

Supplies

Do you bring your own products?

Your office can supply its own products and equipment, or EEB provides professional-grade products, sanitizers and disinfectants. For larger offices, a supply or equipment fee is added and shown in your price.

What should we keep on site?

Please keep the basics on site: broom and dustpan, mop and bucket, toilet brushes, trash liners, hand soap and paper towels.

Pricing

How is the price worked out?

Your price is based on the office's cleanable square footage, how often we clean, the hours we work and any add-ons.

Do you charge by the hour?

No. EEB does not price office cleaning by the hour. The price comes from your office's size and how often we clean, so you pay for the work rather than the clock.

Can I see a price online?

Standard private-sector offices can see a price after sign-in. Larger offices, full office buildings and spaces with lobbies and shared floors are quoted after a review or walkthrough, and the quote appears in your dashboard.

What sizes count as small, medium and large?

As a guide:

  1. Small offices: roughly 100 to 1,000 sq ft, about 1 to 10 people
  2. Medium offices: roughly 1,001 to 3,000 sq ft, about 11 to 25 people
  3. Large offices: roughly 3,001 to 5,000 sq ft, about 26 to 50 people

These ranges are guides; your price depends on cleanable area, frequency, condition and occupancy.

What are the office promotional plans?

Eligible private-sector small, medium and large offices can choose EEB's office promotional plans, and payments on those plans earn Wallet Credit toward future EEB services under the program rules. Wallet Credit is not cash or a refund. Other offices use standard office pricing.

Which offices are priced differently?

Promotional plans do not apply to salons, barbershops, spas, gyms, restaurants or industrial spaces, which are quoted separately. Government offices are priced through EEB's government bid process.

Contracts and Billing

How does billing work?

Billing runs on 4-week cycles.

How long is the contract?

Contract length depends on your plan and agreement.

How do I cancel?

EEB's standard termination notice is 30 days in writing unless your signed agreement says otherwise.

Getting a Quote

What do you need from me to price the office?

We need the cleanable square footage and number of people, the number of restrooms and breakrooms, how often and the hours we can work, and who lets the crew in and how the office is secured.

EEB cleans offices across Nassau County and the Town of Babylon, the rest of Suffolk County, and New York City. Towns we serve include Hempstead, Baldwin, East Meadow, Freeport, Rockville Centre, Oceanside, Lynbrook, Valley Stream, Elmont, Malverne, Levittown, Merrick, Bellmore, Wantagh and Seaford, plus Deer Park, West Babylon, North Babylon, Babylon and Lindenhurst.
